Description
The specimen is part of an excised pilonidal sinus - cut to show the sinus leading from the skin
surface into a circumscribed (by fibrous tissue) mass in which there is a small cavity. The grey
mass consists of granulation tissue in which there are hairs bleached by a long exposure to fixative.
